What we store when you post without an account. The text you write, the categories and cantons you choose, any files you attach, and a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. The hash lets us recognise repeated submissions from the same connection; it cannot be turned back into an address and it is never shown to anyone.

What we store when you register. Your chosen display name, your e-mail address, your password as a hash, and an avatar if you upload one. Your e-mail address is never shown on the site.

Machine translation. To offer the forum in four languages we send the text of questions and answers to Google’s Gemini API for translation. Do not write anything in a contribution that you would not want processed by that service.

Attachments are scanned. Uploaded files are checked by a malware scanning service before they are published.

Advertising. Advertising cookies are only set if you accept them in the banner. If you decline, no advertising script is loaded at all.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account yourself in your account settings. Your contributions stay on the forum as anonymous posts, so that the discussions around them remain readable; everything that links them to you is removed immediately, and the deactivated account itself is erased 90 days later.
