Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to ask something? No. Questions can be published without registering, and an anonymous question shows no name. An account only adds notifications, the ability to follow categories, and the option to mark an answer as the best one.

Can I edit my question? Yes, for 24 hours after posting, if you were signed in when you wrote it. Anonymous posts cannot be edited, because nothing proves they are yours.

In which languages can I ask? German, French, Italian and English. Questions are shown in the language they were written in until they have been translated; you can always reach the original.

Is the answer I get legal advice? No. It is information from other members of the public and, where the badge says so, from verified lawyers. It is not a substitute for advice on your own case.

Something here is abusive or wrong. Use the “Report” control under the question or answer. It goes to a moderator; the content stays visible until they have looked at it.
